Unhoused and Pushed Around is a literary work I've been working on for the past couple of years, telling my own stories and the stories of other unhoused individuals. My intention is to write transparently, to educate, and to change the narrative of homelessness. In the hopes that, in the end, whoever reads it can approach homelessness and the people with more compassion and a genuine curiosity about the person and their unique situation. Instead of preconceived notions and an ignorant attitude towards homelessness that is based on stigma and stereotypes defined by people and a society that has never taken the time to learn more about the community and its people. We often fear, judge, and run from what we do not understand. I hope this narrative can aid in changing that.
